Central India has some of the most beautiful landscapes. It has a network of rivers, plateaus, and mountain ranges that range from 150 metres above sea level to 1300 metres above sea level. The area has been changed by nature over millions of years. It also has a system of ravines and gorges with a variety of plants that are home to its beautiful plants and animals. It is easy to see why many people who go on a wildlife safari here feel like they are in Rudyard Kipling’s world of animals.

Nature Safari India organized our private 2 Weeks Safari in Central India plus a couple of Sightseeing and we are very happy to having choose this agency. I found them on the responsible tiger tourism association (TOFTigers) and I liked them from the very first contact. From the first email more than two years ago to the end of our trip in April 2022, the service was great, the selection of the itinerary, Parks, lodges and guides was perfect. And this although the very difficult travel situation due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Our trip had to be postponed and rescheduled twice (we were supposed to travel at the end of March 2020), Mr. Deepkul was always very professional, competent, responsive and helpful with all my requests and he went the extra mile. We had a wonderful time in India, we saw a lot of tigers and wildlife, and we hope to come back soon. We warmly recommend Nature Safari India to everyone and in the future, we’ll surely book another tour with them.

We did 5 days of safaris with Sharad Vats's team, in Kanga and Pench, in April 2022. Right from the planning to the actual execution, Sharad was accessible, knowledgeable and helpful, to ensure we got a good experience. Not only was the itinerary planned and tweaked multiple times to suit us, but our accommodation and food needs were also taken care of well. We enjoyed the trip immensely, especially because Sharas understood that we were not just after tiger sightings, but enjoyed birds and trees and other wildlife too, and recommended an itinerary accordingly. The accommodation and food was great. And my particular need of a wifi connection even in these remote areas (because there was a study commitment I could not miss) was also met. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing and totally unforgettable trip to India organised by Nature Safari India, in particular Deepkul (and previously Manjeet). I organised the trip 2 years ago just as the pandemic hit, I had been communicating with Nature Safari India constantly for quite a few months until we finalised on an itinerary, nothing was too much trouble and replies to queries were almost instant. When it came to the actual holiday, all we had to do was get to New Delhi. (As a warning it isn't straightforward to get visas anymore) From then on all was taken care of. We were met at the airport and were looked after from that point, including checking us into the hotel and providing a car and driver for our exclusive use until we left New Delhi. We were driven from each location by drivers who looked after us incredibly well, stopped/slowed down if we wanted to take pictures, they also pointed out interesting sites as we passed. If you have time, I would recommend travelling by car to different locations, as you see a lot more of India. Deepkul monitored us through our whole holiday, checking that we were OK, getting reports from each of our guides and making sure we were happy with our holiday. Our guides and drivers, throughout, were fantastic, so friendly, knowledgeable, thoughtful and polite.

After breakfast in the morning, you will be driven to the airport to catch a flight at 10:45 a.m. The flight gets to Khajuraho at 13:35 a.m. Meet our driver at the Khajuraho airport, then drive 40 km (45 minutes) to Panna national park. Check into the Taj Pashan Garh when you get there. It is in a beautiful spot along the Ken River, surrounded by large areas of unspoiled forest, and is close to Panna National Park. Guests will stay in stilted treehouses that are high above the forest floor and have dramatic views of the river.

For leisure activists, lunch and the afternoon are free time. Dinner and a place to sleep at Lodge.

Taj Pashan Garh or Something Similar

Day 03: In Panna National Park

The Lodge serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Jeep rides in the park in the morning and evening.

Panna is in the Vindhyan Hill range and is spread out over the Panna and Chhatarpur districts in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh. The Vindhyan ranges run through Panna National Park, making it the most important protected area in the north-central highlands of India. This is because the Vindhyan ranges connect the wild animal populations in the east and west.

The world-famous temples at Khajuraho are only 31 km away from Panna National Park, which is on the banks of the Ken River. There are deep valleys, cascading waterfalls, and thick teak forests in the Park. There are also many plateaus and large flatlands that are broken up by hills, deep valleys, and gorges. Most of the land is rocky and uneven. It includes dry mixed deciduous forests with short grasses and open woods. At lower elevations, the grass is taller and the trees are closer together. On hilly slopes and in gorges, common bamboo can also be found.

Visitors have a good chance of seeing leopards, wolves, hyenas, jackals, and sloth bears, as well as the majestic tiger. The nilgai, sambar, chital, wild boar, and Indian crocodile are also often seen in the reserve.

Taj Pashan Garh or Something Similar

DAY 04: Panna – Bandhavgarh (240 Kms/05 – hour drive)

After breakfast, drive 240 km (5 hours) to Bandhavgarh National Park. Check into the Taj Mahua Kothi when you get there. This small lodge is close to one of India’s most beautiful national parks, Bandhavgarh National Park. It has twelve charming guest suites built in the charming Madhya Pradesh style. The name Mahua Kothi comes from the Madhuca Indica, also called the Mahua or butter tree, which is one of the most beautiful trees in India.

This tree, which is called “ma-hoo-aa” and has fleshy, off-white flowers, is a key part of ceremonies and celebrations. The Lodge covers 40 acres of land and is only 20 minutes from the park entrance. The guest areas are in the original Kothi, which has been beautifully remodelled, and the guest rooms are all brand new.

The guests love the yoga supplies in a basket, which come with instructions, and the traditional Indian games of marbles and Chaupad. Early in the morning, tea is brought to the kutiyas with pots of boiling water on chulhas (charcoal burners). Bicycles left in the courtyards of kutiyas are an invitation to go out and see the world.

After lunch at the resort, go to the national park for a game drive in the afternoon around 14:30. Each month of the year has a different time for the safari to begin. Bandhavgarh is a forest that is known for being a great place to see Tigers. You will never forget the time you spent trying to find the majestic and hard-to-find Tiger. In Africa, it’s easier to track wildlife because of the environment, the animals, and the technology. In India, however, the wildlife encounters are different, educational, and exciting, to say the least. You will always remember the good time you had on the safari in the national park with the skilled drivers and experienced guides. Most safaris in the afternoon last between 3 and 4 hours and end just before sunset. Dinner and a night’s sleep at the lodge.

Stay at the Taj Mahua Kothi or a similar place

DAY 05–07: In Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

The Lodge serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Jeep rides in the park in the morning and evening

Bandhavgarh National Park is a 448 km2 tiger reserve in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is nestled between the beautiful Vindhya and Satpura mountain ranges. This park is one of the most beautiful in India. Tropical forests and woodlands, steep rocky hills, and flat grasslands in the valleys below make up the dramatic landscape. Bandhavgarh is one of the most interesting parks in India. It has a 2,000-year-old fort, a statue of Lord Vishnu from the 10th century, a dense Sal jungle, and grasslands.

The number of tigers in Bandhavgarh is one of the highest on the Subcontinent. It has a hilly, open landscape with a lot of big grassy meadows where animals are likely to be seen. Bandhavgarh is known all over the world because it has so many big cats. The Park is also home to many different kinds of mammals, such as the leopard, chital (spotted deer), Sambar deer, nilgai, wild boar, chinkara, sloth bear, rhesus macaque, grey langur, jungle cat, hyena, porcupine, jackal, fox, and wild dog.

Stay at the Taj Mahua Kothi or a similar place

DAY 08: Bandhavgarh-Kanha ( by surface, 280 km/06 hours drive )

Morning tiger safari in Bandhavgarh national park. Later, depart for Kanha (280kms, 6 hours). On arrival, check into Taj Banjaar Tola Kanha. The third jungle safari lodge run by Taj Safaris is right on the banks of the Banjaar River, with a view right into Kanha National Park. Along the Banjaar River, near the rich riverine forests of Kanha National Park, which was one of the first nine tiger reserves to be set up, there will be nine dramatic tent suites made of masculine canvas and aged wood to create a classic jungle atmosphere.

The luxurious but lightweight en suite tents have been made in a modern style with pressed bamboo wall panels, beautiful bamboo floors, and locally made furniture made from the wood of exotic Indian trees. The fabrics are made with rich block-printed Madhya Pradesh cotton and silks in soft saffron and acid-washed green tones. The atmosphere is airy, light, and natural. The lodge has two elegant camps with a total of nine suites. Each suite has its own private sitting area in a tent. Banjaar Tola has its own style, which is based on the Bastar and Dogra art from the nearby state of Chattisgarh.

Accommodation: Taj Banjaar Tola or Similar

DAY 09 - 10: In Kanha National Park

Wake up at 05:00 with tea/coffee and biscuits, then head to the National park for a morning safari.

The core of the reserve is made up of the Kanha’ssal and bamboo forests, rolling grasslands, and winding streams that cover over 940 sq km. The park was made in 1974 as part of Project Tiger. It is one of the few places where the rare hardground Barasingha can live (Cervus Duvaceli Branderi).

This is the country that Rudyard Kipling wrote so vividly about in his book The Jungle Book. Breakfast from the Lodge is brought to a certain place and set out on the roof of the Safari vehicle. Enjoy your breakfast in Kanha’s wild area.

After seeing Kanha, you would be very happy that this itinerary included the forest. This park is a must-see on your India trip because of how beautiful it is and how many different kinds of life it has. There are about 70 different kinds of trees in Kanha, and over 300 different kinds of birds have been seen there.

If you haven’t seen the elusive Tiger yet, keep looking for it and enjoy the fresh, energising environment. About 11:30, you should get back from Safari. Get cleaned up while lunch is being made.

After lunch, go on a jeep safari in Kanha National Park in the afternoon. Return at 6 pm from safari. Dinner and a place to sleep are at the Lodge.

Accommodation: Taj Banjaar Tola or Similar

DAY 11: Kanha-Pench (210 kms, 4-5 hrs drive)

Game drive in the national park in the morning. After an early lunch, drive 210 km (five hours) to Pench National Park. When you get there, check into the Taj Baghvan. This cosy lodge is on the edge of Pench National Park, which is mostly hills, forests, and valleys. The lodge has twelve separate suites, called “machans,” that all have beautiful rooftop terraces. Baghvan is deep in the Indian wilderness and is a great place to sleep under the stars. It will charm and enchant you.

The Bengal tiger, a famous symbol of India, is a good choice for the name of Baghvan (bagh – tiger and van – forest). This charming lodge is on the edge of Pench National Park, which is a dry deciduous forest with mostly teak trees and winding jungle streams. It is pronounced “baagh-vun.” When our guests drive ten minutes to the park’s entrance, they are deep in the Indian jungle.

Baghvan has 12 separate suites that look out over a beautiful dry riverbed (called a “nullah”) and are shaded by the canopies of beautiful forest trees. Each large suite has a unique modern bungalow style and an atmosphere that reminds you of the 1950s. Follow the stairs to the beautiful machan, which is a covered rooftop platform in the jungle. It has a mosquito net, an overhead fan, and hookah pipes, so it’s a great place to enjoy the romance of the jungle during the day or at night with a memorable sleepout.

Breakfasts and lunches are served on a large, shaded deck that wraps around the beautiful pool and looks out over the nullah, a path that the Pench tigers like to take. At sunset, people drink cocktails under a big Banyan tree and watch an Indian flying squirrel do amazing tricks in the air.

Stay at the Taj Baghvan or a similar place

DAY 12: In Pench National Park

The hotel served breakfast and lunch. Jeep tours to the national park in the morning and in the afternoon.

Pench will take you in with open arms and no strings attached. This park is in the middle of the Aravali, Vindhyanchal, Satpura, and Maikal mountain ranges. The paths are smoother, the trees are bigger, and there is more undergrowth. This may be one reason why there are more herbivores here than in Kanha and Bandhavgarh.

Birds of prey and their unique calls can be found in the sky. There are also times when nothing is going on in the jungle. Don’t let yourself get lost in the silence and start talking to yourself, which is something that doesn’t happen very often in your cities. Focus on the ground or jungle games so that you and your camera don’t leave anything to the imagination. If you try to look at things the way Kipling did, you might see Baloo and Mowgli singing “Song of Bare Necessities.” Behind the tall grass, King Khan is waiting to ruin their party. You will do all of this and much more while staying in a luxurious room, getting friendly service, and eating delicious food in an exciting place.

The Jungle Book, a classic story by Rudyard Kipling, made this national park famous all over the world.

Stay at the Taj Baghvan or a similar place

DAY 13: Pench-Tadoba (drive 100km/02 hours drive)

A jeep safari to the national park in the morning. After lunch, drive 220 km (5 hours) to Tadoba National Park. When you get there, check into the Lodge. At the lodge in Tadoba, we had dinner and stayed the night.

DAY 14 - 15: Tadoba National Park

The Lodge serves breakfast and lunch. Jeep tours to the National park in the morning and in the afternoon.

The Tadoba Tiger Reserve is one of the best tiger reserves and national parks in India. It is a rare jungle jewel. It is called the Land of the Tigers because there are so many of them there. Recent estimates say there are about 64 tigers in a dense jungle that is 625 square kilometres in size and has a lot of food. Tigers and wild dogs are often seen by tourists. In general, the park has a lot of chances to see wildlife up close, such as the Leopard, Sloth Bear, Gaur (Indian Bison), Rusty Spotted Cat, Ratel, Indian Mouse Deer, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Wild Pig, Four Horned Antelope, Flying Squirrel, and more. There are more than 195 types of birds, like the crested serpent eagle, honey buzzard, paradise flycatcher, grey-headed fishing eagle, shy jungle fowl, and many more.

Svasara Jungle Lodge or a similar place to stay

DAY 16: Tadoba-Nagpur-New Delhi (Drive 150 Kms/04-05 Hours Drive + Flight)

On the Luxury Tiger Safari in India Tour, this was our last safari. Short jeep trip to the national park in the morning. After an early lunch, you drive to the Nagpur airport, where you catch a flight at 1300 and land in New Delhi at 1445. Transfer to hotel from airport. Stay at the hotel in New Delhi for the night.

The Roseate House, Aerocity, or a similar place to stay.

DAY 17: New Delhi Fly back home

In the morning, you are free to do whatever you want. Later, you will be taken to the international airport to catch a flight back home.
