Popular Tiger Reserves & National Park in India

India, which is located in the south eastern subtropics, enjoys a varied landscape. This not only aids in the preservation of a wide variety of wildlife across a variety of landscapes, but it also guarantees the proper care for each species within those varying ecosystems. Corbett National Park in India, located in the northern part of the country, is a stunningly magnificent forest that sits at the base of the Himalayas.

The highest concentration of tigers per square mile, the largest population of Asian elephants, and the presence of more than 500 different bird species all contribute to the region’s moniker as “the land of the Roar, Trumpet, and Song.” The setting for Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book was Central India’s Kanha National Park. The male tigers in this jungle are among the largest ever recorded in the United States. Kanha National Park in India is one of the most important places in India for the preservation of wildlife, and not just the tiger.

In addition to reintroducing species like the Hard Ground Swamp Deer (Barasingha), it also assisted its sister parks in managing their tiger and bison populations through translocation. Kaziranga National Park in India, located in the country’s east, is a crown jewel for being the primary habitat of the endangered Indian One-Horned Rhino. The park is also home to an abundance of Himalayan bird species, which provide the jungle with their melodious songs.

Here are some of India’s most popular wildlife viewing spots and national parks in India. The list includes tiger-centric national parks and safaris, as well as those that welcome visitors interested in seeing other animals, such as the Asian elephant, the one-horned rhino, the Indian leopard, the sloth bear, the Indian gaur, the dhole, and many more.

Excellent Experience with Nature Safari India

Nature Safari India organized our private 2 Weeks Safari in Central India plus a couple of Sightseeing and we are very happy to having choose this agency. I found them on the responsible tiger tourism association (TOFTigers) and I liked them from the very first contact. From the first email more than two years ago to the end of our trip in April 2022, the service was great, the selection of the itinerary, Parks, lodges and guides was perfect. And this although the very difficult travel situation due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Our trip had to be postponed and rescheduled twice (we were supposed to travel at the end of March 2020), Mr. Deepkul was always very professional, competent, responsive, and helpful with all my requests and he went the extra mile. We had a wonderful time in India, we saw a lot of tigers and wildlife, and we hope to come back soon. We warmly recommend Nature Safari India to everyone and in the future, we’ll surely book another tour with them.

Deepkul and the Tiger Safari India team put together an incredible experience for us in Kanha and Bandhavgarh. All the details were taken care of as per our preferences and budget including transportation, food, lodging, and our amazing safari guides. Deepkul was easy to communicate with and always quick to respond to any questions before and during our trip. Highly recommend!

We did 5 days of safaris with Sharad Vats’s team, in Kanga and Pench, in April 2022. Right from the planning to the actual execution, Sharad was accessible, knowledgeable and helpful, to ensure we got a good experience. Not only was the itinerary planned and tweaked multiple times to suit us, but our accommodation and food needs were also taken care of well. We enjoyed the trip immensely…

We had an amazing and totally unforgettable trip to India organised by Nature Safari India, in particular Deepkul (and previously Manjeet). I organised the trip 2 years ago just as the pandemic hit, I had been communicating with Nature Safari India constantly for quite a few months until we finalised on an itinerary, nothing was too much trouble and replies to queries were almost instant.
